Purpose of the List

The purpose of the list is to foster discussion and encourage a friendly community atmosphere to enable us to share issues, concerns and support between the membership. This list is intended to be unmoderated. It is also intended for us to be able to exchange views between ourselves in a fairly open way. As an e-mail list, it is hardly private, but it is requested that any postings made to the list are regarded as confidential to the recipients of the list and should not be forwarded to other parties and in particular to other e-mail lists without the permission of those concerned.

Eligibility for Membership of the List

The list is intended to support repository administrators in a professional role. The list is open for anyone working directly in UK research repository administration. It is not intended to be open to publishers, commercial suppliers, students, research funders, academics or researchers, or general open access project staff, except where people have a position in repository administration.

Scope of the List

UKCoRR is a nascent professional body for the support of our professional concerns concerning the work we do with repository administration. It is not an advocacy group for open access or for repositories per se and so discussions of this nature would be better suited on one of the other excellent open access lists — for example “JISC-Repositories”, or the “American Scientist” list.

Having said that, we might well discuss particular approaches or difficulties that we are having with our advocacy activities in-house, but discussion on more general areas of open access is probably best covered elsewhere.

The list and archives can be accessed here UKCORR-discussion@jiscmail.ac.uk.
