UKCoRR Areas of Activity
This
section outlines the various activities carried out by UKCoRR in general. Please
also see details of the UKCoRR Committee,
UKCoRR Charter and agendas and minutes of committee
meetings.
Collective professional voice
- To be
a collective voice that can speak on behalf of its membership to publishers, funding
councils, institutions and other relevant bodies.
Public voice
and advocate
- To defend the work of repository establishment and
development and for the members to be on the lookout for supporting evidence,
statistics etc.
Facilitate Continuing Professional Development
(CPD)
- To liaise with the members and information/service providers
for provision of self-financing CPD activities.
- To facilitate members
only discussion events.
- UKCoRR members have contributed significantly
to the development of the SHERPA Repository
Staff and Skills Set document which has proven to be a valuable resource for
the repository community both in the UK and abroad.
Communications
- Communication between peers and from members to external groups and public.
- Communication
facilitated through e-mail list and through
meetings to provide networking and peer-2-peer support.
- Community webpage/portal
to draw together professional resources for members.
- Facility for members
to share experience, outputs, advocacy ideas, licences, templates, etc through
website, communications, meetings.
Different granular levels of
support
- Support for formation of (possibly ad hoc) groups working
on specific projects or in specific areas through website, communications, meetings.
Support
for members
- Draw together information that is of direct use to
UKCoRR members in their professional work: for example, key websites which relate
to repository management like the SHERPA
or RSP websites; or key resources,
like the Repository
Skill-Set document which was put together with UKCoRR members' assistance.
